We are continuing with our "How To Study The Bible" teaching series and this is the second lesson called, "The Devotional Bible Study Method." This lesson focuses on personal transformation by moving beyond theoretical knowledge to practical life application. Effective study requires preparation, including scheduling consistent time, keeping a notebook, using foundational tools like Study Bibles or concordances without letting them replace Scripture, and praying for guidance before reading. Rather than just interpreting the text, the devotional method involves prayerfully meditating on a passage—through techniques like visualization, rephrasing, or emphasizing key words—until the Holy Spirit reveals how to live it out. Because knowledge without action can lead to spiritual pride, believers are encouraged to write down a personal application to our life that the Holy Spirit show us, that is personal, practical, possible, and provable, often pairing it with Scripture memorization to sustain long-term spiritual growth.
